Salvation Army gives away 700 backpacks at two Family Fun Day events

The Salvation Army of Barron County held its annual Family Fun Day event at the Barron soccer field across from Highway 8 on Saturday. Meanwhile, Red Cedar Church offered the same event at their church in Rice Lake.

The purpose of the events was to help kids get ready for school by offering free backpacks filled with school supplies, a selection of new socks and a gift card to put toward the purchase of new shoes. Between the two locations, a grand total of 700 kids received backpacks that day.
